What I am Reading
Here Be Dragons by Sharon K. Penman. I first read this book in High School, thus initiating my love affair with historical fiction. This is a sweeping tale of Welsh royalty in the 1200’s. It is not as predictable and flat as some of Phillipa Gregory’s books, but provides the same romantic drama that her readers enjoy. I am reading it now for the second time and enjoying every page.
Lady of the Hay by Barbara Erskine: If you liked the Outlander series, you will enjoy this. The writing is good, and the characters are intriguing.
Behind the Veils of Yemen By Audra Grace Shelby. This is an interestingstory about a foreign missionary who takes her family to Yemen, although I could not help but feel that some of her observations were condescending.
